I don't know about you, but around here it seems summer is speeding as fast as a freight train! I want it to stop. I want more time sleeping in and more time staying up late. I want Ashley to spend her mornings tending her flower gardens and watching the mother robin feed her babies. I want Hannah to enjoy every minute of her cake decorating class and Amy to catch a million more fireflies. I want a few more months of less responsibility, less scheduling and less bustle.
It makes me want to appreciate today a little more, because today is still summer and in a matter of weeks I won't be able to say that. So, let's do something summery today. Let's discover a new park, read outside on a blanket, or take a ride to get milkshakes tonight in our pajamas.
There's still time to fit quite a bit of summer into the next few weeks. For those of you who send your kids off come fall, or those who send themselves back into a classroom, soak up as much as you can over the next few weeks. Do those things that you just can't find the time to do over the coarse of the school year. Start a project (or, as is often the case around here, finish a project from last year).
Don't let another summer day pass by without making a memory, one that screams "It's summer!" I've got a few things on my to-do list today, but I'll have to add one more, because going to the grocery store and stopping by the bank just won't scream "summer" to my kids.
Enjoy your day!
