Sometimes life includes things that aren't that fun. That's just a fact. But what if we could take something that's not overly fun and add a little bit of exciting to it?
For example, school.
Now, don't get me wrong. School is important. School has it's high points. School isn't terrible. It's just hard to move from the carefree days of summer back into a school routine.
It just is.
Maybe I'm the only one who struggles with that.
In order to add a little fun to our school routine this year, I went on a quest for fun school supplies. After all, if I have to staple papers I might as well have a cute stapler.
My girls stay home with me. That means we don't have to purchase school supplies from a list. We just need to have some things available around the house.
My search turned up some very unique finds that we are loving.
They all live here, on our lazy susan that sits in the middle of our work table.
It's hard to pick a favorite. I really like the alligator stapler I call Al,
but Snappy the Snail tape dispenser has my number, too.
Not to be left out is Big Bird the paper clip holder.
She doesn't much resemble the real Big Bird and she's actually quite small, but the girls don't seem to take those things into account when naming animal shaped office supplies.
We also have bird shaped scissors we call Wyatt. He's a woodpecker. Here he is in action.
There's a little bowl of fun erasers in the mix.
There are lots of different kinds. You can have a snack,
or play football, soccer, baseball. Ping pong, anyone?
By the way, that ping pong is super tiny and could in no way be an effective tool for erasing. But effective isn't really our style.
Finally I ordered us some personalized pencils. Because my kids love personalized stuff.
I went ahead and ordered some for me as well.
Somehow the school year seems a little brighter already.
Hope yours is off to a great start!
