I used to have very little concept of what forever felt like. That was before Hannah moved in.
All of a sudden forever felt a lot more real.
Forever takes on new meaning when...
...the new one is screaming.
...the lies won't stop.
...she doesn't care about anything that's important to you.
...your family feels different, and it's not a good different.
...you're pretty sure you just ruined your life.
That's when I started to understand forever.
But that "forever" doesn't last long in the grand scheme of things. That "forever" is actually pretty short. It just won't feel like it at the time.
My concept of forever has changed. Forever no longer measures what it used to.
...the hug she gives me first thing in the morning.
...the laughs we share every single day around our table.
...watching her give every cent she has saved to someone in need.
...the long talks that go past bedtime.
...a changed heart.
Because life without her seems like a lifetime ago.
I wouldn't trade a day, good or bad on our journey. Each step we took led us a little closer to where we are now. And now is amazing.
Now is forever.
Forever used to be the person she was. But that was really just a moment. Forever is who she is now.
I love forever.
