Let me start off by saying, keeping things in perspective is not one of my strengths.
If you need something blown out of proportion...
If you need someone to make a mountain out of a molehill...
If jumping to the worst possible conclusion before knowing all the facts would be helpful...
I'm your gal.
Just ask my kids.
Learning to listen, think, and pray before responding has been an uphill battle. I'm not good at it. At all.
I'm working on it and I'm pretty sure recognizing that I have a problem is a big part of my solution.
What does that look like in real life?
It means holding my tongue when I want to let it loose.
It means listening to all sides before forming an opinion.
It means taking a few minutes, sometimes longer, before passing judgement on the offenders.
More often than not it means extending grace.
I wish that came more naturally to me.
Some days I'm better at it than others.
Like today. Somehow when I'm at the beach it's not so hard.
